There are various ways of overcoming fatigue but understanding the root cause of your fatigue is the first step. Some ways of alleviating fatigue are;

  • Meditation: this is a great way to relax the mind and body, studies have shown that meditation and yoga have reduced the symptoms of fatigue.
  • Get enough sleep: having a religious sleep-cycle of approximately 8 hours every night will improve your energy levels and give you more motivation during the day.
  • Change eating and drinking habits: changing the way you eat and getting the correct nutrients into your body is vital to increasing your energy levels. Reducing your alcoholic and sugary beverage intake will also have a big impact on improving your energy levels.
  • Physical activity: Increasing the amount of exercise you do in a week has an effect on both your mind and body, your mood will become better and you will find you have more energy to complete mundane tasks that may have felt like a huge chore before. Overexerting yourself also affects your energy levels. Doing too much exercise and going too hard, forces your body to go into overdrive and want to shut down. Understanding what exercise regime is best for your body and remembering to give your body a break is crucial.
  • Destress: if stress is consuming every inch of your life, it will drain your energy levels completely.
